Using two HD cameras, I entered the film studio to capture extreme close-up footage of my eyes as they twitched, blinked, and exhibited signs of intense agitation. This footage was then rear-projected—playing out of sync—onto the street-front windows of the abandoned Free Mason’s Hall in downtown Halifax.
Initially, this dual projection was presented as a guerrilla work during the summer of 2008, utilizing two of the Mason’s Hall's street-front windows. In the fall of 2008, the piece was selected as the anchor project for Halifax’s inaugural Nocturne Festival, inspired by Nuit Blanche. For this event, the installation expanded to encompass all four of the Hall’s massive front windows, transforming the space into a captivating visual experience that engaged the public in a dialogue about perception and presence.
